Youth experiencing homelessness can face many barriers accessing federal financial aid. Changes from The FAFSA Simplification Act include specific provisions to remove these barriers. This presentation will cover definitions on unaccompanied homeless youth (UHY), key policy changes from the FAFSA Simplification, processes for accepting and making UHY determinations, and general best practices. Financial aid administrators will have the opportunity to work through a few case studies and ask questions.
